Isabelle and Felix Couchman were awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz) at a ceremony in December 2023 at the German Embassy in London. This is the highest honour awarded by the Federal Republic of Germany for services to the common good. It is awarded for political, economic-social and intellectual achievements.

Ambassador Miguel Merger, who hosted the ceremony wrote that it was a “Great honour to present Isabelle & Felix Couchman with Germany's Cross of the Order of Merit, recognising their exceptional contribution to reconciliation. Their campaign for a change to the German Nationality Act was path-breaking for many Nazi victims & descendants globally”.
